Research Operations and Integration (ROI)
Software Process
The ROI Software Process website is intended to assist Principal Investigators (PIs) and others associated with ROI experiments with software development at the Johnson Space Center (JSC) for Human Research Program (HRP) ISS/flight investigations.
Below are the major steps and important notes for experiment research with software. As a PI, you will have help from your sponsoring HRP element and ROI throughout this process.

4 |
Feasibility Assessment with ROI |
Once accepted, your proposal will go through a Feasibility Assessment with ROI. It is ideal to have a copy of the software available for ROI to review at this time. See Software Steps during the Feasibility Assessment Process . |
5 |
Select for Flight |
If determined feasible, the HRP Element will bring to Human Research Program Control Board (HRPCB) for the Select for Flight (SFF). |
6 |
ROI Experiment Team Assigned |
Once Select for Flight is received, an ROI experiment team will be assigned to assist with experiment development, implementation, and completion. |
7 |
Development Proceeds |
The process flow pages outline more specific steps for software. See SSC Process Flow and HRF PC Process Flow. Implementation on SSC, HRF PC, or both will be assessed during the Feasibility Assessment. |
Some highlights include:

Data Handling |
|
- BDC data will be uploaded by PI to the Life Science Data Warehouse (LSDW).
- In-flight data and shared data will be uploaded by ROI into the LSDW.
- All data will be archived in the NASA Life Sciences Portal (NLSP). |
