The TSC provides, in addition to basic workstation operations, off-line areas and services to PI teams. Some of these services are as follows:
Security
Federal regulations for Automated Information Systems (AIS) security and data privacy is integrated into the TSC support operations. The JSCM 2410.11 JSC AIS Manual is used as a security implementation guide. In addition, the TSC short term storage and display protects against unauthorized access to private medical data or private experimental data.
Badging
Access to the TSC is limited to approved badged personnel. All badging should be arranged in advance through the TSC Manager via the PD. A JSC site badge/decal (or NASA civil service badge) and a Controlled Access Area (CAA) badge are required for access in the TSC JSC. All entrances in the MCC-H are equipped with key card devices permitting only CAA authorized access. Site badges can be obtained at JSC building 110. The Controlled Access Area badge forms can be downloaded from JSC Intranet website. Personnel with a JSC site badge only, may be escorted by a CAA badge owner.
Internet Access
The TSC provides users access to the JSC Internet Network (JIN). Internet /Email access through the JIN can be arranged, as required.
Workstation Accounts
Personal accounts are required for all workstations (MCC-H workstation, OpenLSDS and MIRAGE) in the JSC TSC.
All users who require access to a MCC-H workstation need to submit a Mission Operations Directorate CAR JSC Form 273 from building 30S, Rm. 3006 to their respective PD.
The TSC Manager submits a list of personnel who require access to the System Administrator. Accounts are given to the users typically before the first Joint MCC-H/POIC joint simulations and training sessions.
Copy Service
The TSC provides a copier machine for reproduction purposes. The MCC-H maintains a printing facility for mission support in Building 30S, room 3305. TSC users have access to this facility for mission-related copies. The procedure for the use of this facility is TBD. If a heavy reproduction workload is anticipated, the PD is to coordinate through their support facilities and the TSC Manager.
Facsimile
The TSC has the capability to transmit and receive Facsimile (Fax) messages. A Fax machine is provided for transmitting printed copies to remote locations. The JSC TSC Fax number is: 281-483-8719.
Telephone
The commercial phone system is available to payload customers and is controlled by administrative personnel, providing a variety of configuration options and service applications.
Each telephone has a unique number and is equipped with conference capability and call pickup.
Conference Area
A meeting area with teleconferencing capability may be provided upon request.
Storage
Bookcases, cabinets and other suitable storage accommodations are provided for reference materials and supplies as required. Coordinate this usage through the PD Representative and the TSC Manager.
Food Services
Two cafeterias at JSC provide full service breakfast and lunch menus. The cafeterias are located in Buildings 3 and 11. The hours of operation are:
Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Lunch 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Vending machines are available in Building 30M on floor 2R, in Building 30S in the lobby and third floor. Microwaves and refrigerators are located in the kitchenette areas on the second and third floors of Building 30S.
