The JSC TSC is physically located in building 30M at JSC. There are Telescience Support Centers located at several National Aeronautic Space Administration (NASA) locations, such as Ames Research Center (ARC) in California, Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Ohio, and Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Alabama. For the purposes of this document, “TSC” refers exclusively to the facility at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
The TSC site is to assist users in the definition phase of mission support requirements. It is intended to aid prospective users, project teams, Payload Developers (PDs) / Principal Investigators (PIs) in understanding the available TSC capabilities for the various modes of operation. It describes the TSC functions, systems and facility requirements , capabilities , interfaces and services available to users in support of, but not limited to, life sciences experiments of the ISS program. It also defines the necessary elements and their relative interfaces to the ISS and STS operations. Elements covered in this site include real-time mission functions, pre/post and real-time flight data collection, data archival, post mission data processing and distribution, training facilities, interfaces to simulators and mockups, and external interfaces to the various operations components of the ISS and STS networks.
Mission Control Center- Houston (MCC-H) and Space Station Control Center (SSCC) may be used interchangeably. “MCC-H” is to be used to reference support of STS and Spacehab missions. “SSCC” refers strictly to the MCC-H in support of ISS.
